Iridescent Smalti changes colour as the angle of view or the angle of illumination changes. It is frost resistant, water proof, easy to cut with nippers or HAMMER AND HARDIE and you don't have to grout it.The colours are intense and has several shades
Smalti created the same way as the traditional methods of Murano but the local Mexican ingredients and minerals add a lot to the uniquness of the Mexican smalti. After the mplten glass poured into a steel table to form the `Tortillas` or the Pizza which is a circle of glass about 15" diameter and 6mm thickness, they cut it by hand to a about 18x18mm. This is called Piastrine in classic Italian mosaics. Because it is thinner than Orsoni smalti it is easier to cut, and you can use both side of the glass so you have different texture, finish and a big range of tonal marbling colour from side to side. by having the Montolit Nippers or hammer and Hardie you are set to go.
